KMST ver. 1.2.157 – 6th Job Changes

One last test world patch before 6th job is released!! This patch contains the actual 6th job advancement quests, the actual Hexa Matrix system, and lots of 6th job skill changes (plus the Enhancement Cores) as well as the level 280 area Arteria and other improvements.

I was going to include a more in-depth guide to the 6th job advancement quests and how the Hexa Matrix system works but this post was already pretty late and there will probably be some changes by the time it releases in the live server, so I’ll add it in to the next one. The next post will probably require going through every single skill so it will definitely take some time! Also my keyboard is dying and the number keys don’t work half the time so it makes it 10x harder for me…

MapleStory Live (June 29) Summary

A week after the test world update, Director Kang Wongki and Planning Team Leader Kim Changseop did a livestream talking about the 6th job update, feedback they’ve received, and the things they’re working on. They apologized probably no less than 20 times (and Changseop even apologized for apologizing so much lol) but it did seem like a pretty sincere discussion about the shortcomings of the patch.

I expected this to be a short post of bullet points but I actually really enjoyed watching the stream so I ended up writing a lot more lol. Changseop in particular was very honest about the mistakes they made, their reasoning and intentions, their goals, and they are clearly taking into account the players’ point of view now. Obviously I can’t translate it 100% but I tried to include as much detail as possible for the most interesting notes.

KMST ver. 1.2.156 – 6th Job Begins

Finally, the 6th job skills have been added to the test world! This patch actually came out on Thursday so its been a few days, I was busy with some other stuff and it did take a while to write everything out. Also, the effects for the 6th job Origin Skills were way too big (like each one would be 20MB+ gifs and some have multiple versions for different genders) so I decided not to include those, especially since I don’t have that much storage space left on WordPress lol. Instead, I’ll include 맑음’s videos that you can follow along with, which show off every 6th job skill and also show the difference between the base skills and the enhanced versions! I’ll maybe add them in for the final post but they’ll probably have to be hosted somewhere else.

KMST ver. 1.2.155 – New Age Gameplay Improvements!

On Saturday, a couple of hours after the New Age showcase finished, the test world updated with many of the game changes and system improvements mentioned there. No 6th job yet (that will start testing on June 22)! This patch will be coming to the official servers on Wednesday, along with the summer event which is actually pretty different system-wise but more on that in the next post (might be a couple days later since I just finished this one).

Director Wongki also has been making his rounds, visiting various streamers to talk and answer questions. He started with Geulja (글자네) right after the showcase! He has made some interesting statements and soft-announced various changes, so I’ll probably write up a summary sometime this week.
