KMST ver. 1.2.161 – Profession Changes & MapleStory Now!

Together with the new test world patch, the new director Kim Changseop went live on the MapleStory Youtube channel to talk about the update with players. I found the stream pretty interesting since they explained a lot about their intentions and thoughts behind how they design some of these changes and events!

Last night, a new test world patch was released together with the Maple Vision Talk for the second half of the year. Director Wongki has become General Director Wongki and Planning Team lead Kim Changseop has become Director Changseop!
This patch contains some of the things mentioned in the Vision Talk, like being able to upgrade Seed Rings to level 5, and some other changes like a lot of Grandis map improvements.

In the latest test world patch, the new level 285 area Carcion has been added, as well as new difficulties for Kalos and Kaling. There were also some changes to other bosses and various improvements.

One last test world patch before 6th job is released!! This patch contains the actual 6th job advancement quests, the actual Hexa Matrix system, and lots of 6th job skill changes (plus the Enhancement Cores) as well as the level 280 area Arteria and other improvements.
I was going to include a more in-depth guide to the 6th job advancement quests and how the Hexa Matrix system works but this post was already pretty late and there will probably be some changes by the time it releases in the live server, so I’ll add it in to the next one. The next post will probably require going through every single skill so it will definitely take some time! Also my keyboard is dying and the number keys don’t work half the time so it makes it 10x harder for me…

A week after the test world update, Director Kang Wongki and Planning Team Leader Kim Changseop did a livestream talking about the 6th job update, feedback they’ve received, and the things they’re working on. They apologized probably no less than 20 times (and Changseop even apologized for apologizing so much lol) but it did seem like a pretty sincere discussion about the shortcomings of the patch.
I expected this to be a short post of bullet points but I actually really enjoyed watching the stream so I ended up writing a lot more lol. Changseop in particular was very honest about the mistakes they made, their reasoning and intentions, their goals, and they are clearly taking into account the players’ point of view now. Obviously I can’t translate it 100% but I tried to include as much detail as possible for the most interesting notes.
